Been awhile!!

Sorry...once again the time gets away from me.  And once again, not much is going on. Mom has done great.  Pretty tired, but we'll take it!  I spent yesterday up at her house cutting batting for a bunch of quilts that need to be quilted.  Quilt machine, here we come.  Next week is round 4 of chemo.  Then we do the PET scan again.  Keep your fingers crossed!!  We need the chemo to really be doing its stuff!! 
As for the blog, it's hard for me to keep up.  I'm trying to think of ways to spice it up...or just keep up.  Change is in the air.  Let's see what it brings!

Quickly...

Just a quick update.  Talked to mom this morning.  It seems this round has really zapped her.  She says she is quite weak.  I keep telling her she doesn't need to get up and do anything!  Just rest...sleep!  While she has a good excuse!  Why is it whenever we have a reason to take it easy we think we need to be doing things.  And when we don't have an excuse, we're ok just sitting and watching tv or taking a nap?  Just something to ponder!

No News

Sorry, I was really busy at work today and totally forgot to update!
Anyway, we don't have any new news at this point.  Mom was a bit disgruntled with the dr. you could say.  She asked to talk to him, but he never quite made it.  SO, you know mom, she went right down to the office on her way out, and made an appointment for Monday afternoon.
We did chemo yesterday.  Boy, they did it FAST! She didn't start til almost 11:15am and she was done shortly after 3. WEnt back today for the shot, dropped her off at home, and dad was bringing home a pizza for dinner!
Hmm...wish I had my own dinner plans worked out.  Oh well.  Bowl of cereal!
Anyway, I'll try to update Monday night!

On Our Way

Well, we're on our way today for round 3! I can hardly believe it.  I hope we are able to have some questions answered from our last appointment.  We are hoping to understand a little more about what is to come.  So check, and I'll let you know tomorrow what we found out.

3rd round

Believe it or not, thursday will be mom's 3rd round of chemo.  I told her today I can't believe how fast that rolls around!  Not a whole lot to say.  I know everyone wants frequent updates, and I'm happy to tell you that she is doing GREAT...still.
We are very grateful for the lack of posting I need to do, because she is really doing great.  Aside from losing her taste, she hasn't had any real side effects! I tried to video the whole port process last time, but she sat in a chair right by the window, and my video was hard to see.  I'll have her sit in a dark corner this time so I can video it and it will turn out!  haha

Mom got her nader test yesterday.  Her blood count is right where it should be!  So she and Charlene went out today to lunch and shopping!

Finally

Well, I have heard around that the blog needs to be updated!  It has been awhile.  I must say, I didn't want to! Most of you have probably heard the not so good news that was given at mom's last appt.  For those of you that haven't heard, here's the scoop. Mom has an appt with dr. each time she has chemo.  so we went for her appt. right before the 2nd treatment.  To make a long, painful, shocking story short, we were told the dr. had just read the pet scan results and mom's cancer had actually spread to the nodes in both side of her neck and her chest.  When I told him we were quite shocked by this, since his PA had told us at the last visit that it had not spread and it was all good, he was surprised to hear that she had told us that.  SO WERE WE!!  Anyway, I told Karyn and Roger, and then didn't want to talk about it at all.  In fact, Karyn called Dave and Mike to let them know.  Hence the blog stop!  Well, we are going forward now.  So we have a change.  She will get 4 treatments.  After the 4th treatment, she will have another PET scan.  At that time, depending on what the chemo has done, they will decide how to go forward. 
Mike came to visit for a long weekend last week, and it was great to see him.  I know mom and dad enjoyed his visit.  I do have some pictures to post, but their not on this computer.  So I will post them later.
